The Nun Movie Review

The Nun Movie Review
The Nun is the latest installment in the Conjuring franchise directed by Corin Hardy, a prequel to the Conjuring 2, creating an origin story for the creepy ghost Marilyn Manson Nun "Valak" that we saw in that film.
Since 2013 after the success of James Wan's "The Conjuring", WB created their own "Conjuring-Verse" with interconnected movies just like Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Anyway, The Nun arrived on theaters at 7 September and became the substandard movie in the franchise. The core cast of the movie are Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene, Demise Bichir as Father Burke, Jonas Bloquet as Farmer.
Synopsis of the movie:
When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together, they uncover the order's unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of a demonic nun.
The story of the movie takes place in an old Romanian castle back in 1952 where Irene and Father Burke came to investigate a suicide, the story sets 20 years before the Original Conjuring, the  script of the movie is quite common to contemporary Hollywood movies.
The Romanian scenario and corridors of the ruined Abbey creates a Dark-Horror atmosphere and gave a feeling like Wan's original work.
Corin Hardy's "The Nun" failed to please the audience, the biggest problem of the Nun was, the movie wasn't good enough as the fans expected. Initially the movie gives up the ghost and used every common horror trick in the book like- Hands burst through the doors, crosses magically turns upside down.
The movie heavily depends on darker scenes, loud music, melodramatic but not enough scares.
Verdict: A Mediocre Horror Flick failed to scare.
